About

Fresh Ink is a contemporary UK playwriting festival focused on accessible cultural programming, emerging writers and community-led creative engagement.

The Challenge

Fresh Ink is a new, contemporary UK playwriting festival celebrating emerging writers, live performance and community creativity.

The challenge was to create a visual identity system that felt playful, accessible and easy to apply across a fast-moving festival environment, while still allowing space for artist collaboration and future growth. I developed a scalable brand system spanning illustration, print, social media, signage and live event applications. This included creating adaptable illustration guidelines for collaborating artists, alongside practical design guidance.

The identity system was built around the idea of connection - between writers, audiences, collaborators and shared experiences. The flexible line motif became a scalable visual tool used across print, signage, social content and environmental graphics, allowing the festival team to build cohesive communications independently over time.

02
